Designer dog breeds like the Teddy Bear have been bred both. In some cases, the Maltese and Shih Tzu (Malshi), are also considered Teddy Bear. Bichon Frise and the Shih Tzu (Zuchon), is one of the more common mixes. The Teddy Bear can be a mix of several different parent breeds. They are typically good with other pets especially when they are socialized at a young age. The Teddy Bear is the result of a few different designer breeds. Its parents are e a mix of the Shih Tzu and the Poodle (Shih Poo), the Bichon Frise and the Toy Poodle (Poochon). Not all of these designer hybrid dogs are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in those breeds. Teddy Bears reach an average height of 9-12 inches from the shoulder and weigh approximately 8-25 pounds fully grown. Zuchon or Teddy Bear puppies have hanging ears, round eyes with mostly curly hair and come in a combination of black, brown, and white which is also why they got the name Teddy Bear.
